Abstract

Objective: This study aim was to compare radiographic measurement of the metatarsophalangeal angle, measurement of the first second intermetatarsal angle and measurement of the alignment of the lateral sesamoid in the previous and post operatory period. Methods: In this prospective study, to be effect from April 2012 to April 2014, the surgical treatment on 17 patients, 20 feet, suffering from hallux valgus with moderate deformity, were evaluated. All the patients were treated using the same technique of distal soft-tissue reconstruction. Conclusion: The results show that the average correction of the metatarsophalangeal angle of 17.05 degrees, an average correction of the intermetatarsal angle of 5.25 degrees and an average correction the magnitude of the lateral sesamoid subluxation of 45 per cent.
