Abstract

Three cases of glomus tumor were treated between 2011 and 2012 in the foot and ankle ambulatory unit of the orthopedics and traumatology service at the Hospital Santa Izabel, Santa Casa de Misericordia da Bahia, Salvador,. Patients were women who presented with pain in the subungual region and increased local sensitivity. The diagnosis was based on medical history and clinical presentation. Anatomopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis. The surgical treatment chosen was tumor resection with maintenance of the nail. The patients had minor complications and good final progress. This report aims to draw attention to this rare and debilitating tumor.
