Abstract

To compare the results of the reconstruction of calcaneal tendon transposition with the peroneus brevis tendon fixed with interference screw technique and original Turco & Spinella Methods: Fourty-seven patients were evaluated and divided into two groups. The two techniques were compared using the American Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (AOFAS) criteria. Results did not statistically significantly differ between the original Turco and Spinella technique and the use of interference screws. The modication with interference screws achieved a good functional endpoint, and constitutes a valid option for treatment of Achilles tendon ruptures.
