Abstract

Case report of a patient with ankle trauma diagnosed with fibular fracture that underwent surgical treatment. The talar fracture that happened in the same trauma was neglected, became a nonunion that was surgically treated. The result was satisfactory in clinical, functional and radiographic aspects. Reconstructive surgery in talar body nonunion is an option to be considered when there is no extended necrosis in patients with preserved mobility. The good outcomes in 20 years follow-up of the patient here related testify the validity of this procedure in well selected cases.
