Abstract

Objective: This study aimed to compare the radiographic measurement in the previous and post operative period. Methods: In this prospective study, the surgical treatment on 43 patients, 52 feet, suffering from hallux valgus with moderate and severe deformity, were evaluated. Results: All the patients were treated using the same technique of distal softtissue reconstruction, with of proximal opening-wedge osteotomy of the first metatarsal. Conclusion: The wedge addition osteotomy in the base of the first metatarsal promoted the length increasing of the first metatarsal comparing with the second metatarsal, in most of the feet.
