Extra-abdominal desmoid fibroma in a child. Case report

Abstract

Presentation of an extra-abdominal desmoid fibroma case that affected a child’s left foot, being treated by a foot preventive surgery. A ten-year old patient presenting a big and continuous growing lesion in the left foot’s back, causing functional impairment of the foot with well-defined limits and progressive growth, reaching the soft and bone structure of the midfoot and following with disability in the affected foot. It is a rare case, which shows that the functional and preservative surgery is the right choice for the treatment of these lesions, leading to a good final result.
