Calcaneal osteotomy for correction of relapsed flat-foot: early results

Abstract

The author presents the early results of treatment of eight primary postural flat feet, still soft, by the technique of osteotomy with excision of the medial wedge of the calcaneum. Some problems of pes planus are discussed and the author draws the conclusion that the method proposed achieves good functional and anatomical results, once the operation is performed in patients who are 9 to 12 years old.
