Abstract

Objective: The goal of this article is to present clinical findings of five patients with association of diabetes and leprosy, rarely identified at the foot and ankle clinic. Methods: Between June 2000 to June 2005, five patients with diabetes and Hansen disease, in association, were evaluated in our hospital at Lar Escola São Francisco of the Federal University of São Paulo (Unifesp). Results: The patients studied in our outpatient clinic have corresponded to 1% during the period of evaluation and we have identified common chronic complications in both diseases. Conclusions: According to the data of this article, it showed a higher clinical compromise of the patients with both pathologies; however, it doesn’t look like to have a more severe foot compromise.
