Abstract

To evaluate functional outcomes to Scarf modified osteotomy in patients with hallux valgus and metatarsus primo varus and specify its indications. Material and Method: Longitudinal, retrospective study from 2005 to 2010, with hallux valgus and metatarsus primo varus patients; stadistical analysis Student T test was used to compare pre and postop. AOFAS scale values. increased from 40.65 to 82.26 (p< 0.00 01) and one patients presented metatarsopha langeal join artrhosis (4,3%) AOFAS scale points increased from 40.65 to 82.20 (p<0.0001) Conclusions: Scarf osteotomy modified is more stability in basal area of the metatarsal, is a safe procedure, if indications are accurate like metatarsocuneiform instability, metatarsophalangeal join artrhosis and hindfoot problems, or they could procedure a hallux valgus relapse.
