Calcaneal fractures constitute 0.4% ofall fractures(13) and are associated with a high rate of morbility, and postraumatic lost of function. (12,13) The treatment of displaced intra-articular calcaneal fractures remains a challenge for the orthopaedic surgeon. (8,9) These fractures are complex injuries that are associated with considerable damage to bone, cartilage, and the surrounding soft tissues (3,1,4) especially challenging are comminute calcaneal fractures type Sanders lV (11). Open reduction and internal fixation of displaced intra-articular fractures are made in the most of the cases(2), primary or secondary subtalar arthrodesis is performed in Sanders type IV (6), with the cost to lose joint mobility and hindfoot anatomy. ln order to restore more normal dimensions and qet subtalar mobility of foot following trauma in situations in which conventional surgerys and cancellous graft would not be sufficienttzl, partial or total calcanectomy for the treatment of multifragmental type lV Sanders fracture and the use of massive fresh-frozen osteoarticular allografts(5) not aware of any previous reports.
