Abstract

This klnd of tumor is regarded as a neoplasm or tumor giant cells, among the synonyms that we consider is: xanrofibroma, benlgn sinovialoma, sinovialoma Synovioma hairy or justbenign giant cell (stewart 1948, Wright 1951). To Schajowicz xanthomatous histiocytic granuloma the term is most appropriate, because it agrees with the concept of (Jaffe 1958) of a reactive hyperplastic process and inflammatory origin. The findings of multinucleated giant cells, histiocytes and hemosiderin, explains the terms of xanthoma and fibroxa nthoma. (Schajowicz). Localized nodular synovitis has a predilection for extraarticular locations and particularly the tendon sheaths of the fingers, but can affect the knee, ankle and have not found descriptions that locate in the tendon sheaths of the plantar aspect of foot. This paper presents a case of giant cell tumor of tendon sheath of the flexor foot with the treatment of total resection of the tumor with the ability to solve the problem of pain and difficulty to the progress of the patient.
