Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the result of the calcaneoplastia endoscopy in patients with retrocalcaneal bursitis and Haglund disease. Material and Method: 18 patients (19 heels) were treated endoscopically after 8 months of conservative treatment. Patients were divided into 2 groups: A-retrocalcaneal bursitis without posterior calcaneal exostosis. (N = 8) B-retrocalcaneal bursitis with calcaneal exostosis posterior (Enf. Haglund). (N = 11) The procedure was performed using two portals, lateral and medial located immediately to the top edge of the calcaneus offering excellent space retrocalcáneo approach. Inflamed retrocalcaneal bursa was resected and / or posterior calcaneal exostosis according to pathology. In all cases tested the integrity of the Achilles tendon in its distal insertion. Patients were assessed preoperatively and postoperatively with the score of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) ankle and foot. Follow-up averaged 31 months.
