The purpose of this article is to guide the diagnosis and treatment of infected diabetic neuropathic ulcers of the lower limbs. The authors discuss the pathophysiology, diagnostic investigation and classification systems in patients with suspected infected foot ulcers and proprose efficient methods of tissue sampling for microbiological examination and the principles of orthopedic treatment for these lesions. The present paper provides a brief overview about the management of infected diabetic neuropathic foot ulcer.
