Abstract

The author reviewed the main soft tissue tumors of foot and ankle and divided the paper in two main topics, the benign and the malignant lesions. The basic approach to the tumors was explained in details, mainly the image diagnosis, the biopsy, the general treatment and the prognosis. Among the benign tumors, the author presented the main fibroblastic, vascular, neural, lipoblastic and synovial tumors. The main soft tissue sarcomas were presented and divided in fibroblastic, fibro-hystiocitic, lipoblastic, neural, and synovial tumors. The main characteristics, image, treatment and prognostic were explained concerning the characteristics of these tumors, when they are located on foot and ankle.
