Abstract

Objective: Demostrate that a midfoot osteotomy and calcaneal osteotomy improves pain and function in the sequelae of PEVAC in the adult. Methods: Is a prospective, observational, transversal study of non-randomized sampling for convenience. Population older than 16 years, from the Service of Foot, Ankle and Neuromuscular Deformities of INR from January 2010 to December 2015, with diagnosis of sequelae of PEVAC operated on osteotomy of calcaneus and osteotomy of half foot. To assess pain and function, the AOFAS and EVA scales were used prior to surgery, and postoperatively at one year. Analysis: We performed descriptive statistics, measures of central tendency and dispersion. We used Excel and SPSS v. twenty-one. Results: EVA improved in 63.44%, being preoperative at 7.14 and 2.61 at one year of surgery. I improved the AOFAS in 46.58% being preoperatively 43.47% and 81.38% a year of surgery. Conclusions: Half-foot osteotomy plus calcaneal osteotomy is a therapeutic option that provides satisfactory results for the treatment of the sequelae of PEVAC.
