Abstract

Objetive: Calcaneonavicular coalition is a common source of pain and limitation for children’s activities. Methods: If not diagnosed and treated, it may lead to early degenerative conditions of both foot and ankle. Initial treatment is based on conservative measures, being surgical upon its failure. Conclusion: The objective of this study was to present a new surgical approach. Six patients, with average age 15.77 years and a total of nine feet, undergone surgical treatment by the approach indicated by the authors, on a non randomized prospective work. The surgical approach showed itself safe, allowing a large and direct vision of the affection and reducing neurovascular lesion risks.
