Abstract

Objective: To present the clinical and radiographic results of surgical correction of hallux valgus mild and moderated by percutaneous chevron technique. Methods: We evaluated prospectively 33 feet in 23 patients with mild and moderate hallux valgus; reassess with one year of postoperative evolution. We consider the hallux valgus angle (HVA) of up to 40 degrees, the intermetatarsal angle (AIM) up to 17 degrees and metatarsal distal articular angle less than 10 degrees for indication of the procedure. Underwent percutaneous chevron technique, where V osteotomy at the base of the first metatarsal head that is offset with a k or lever laterally and fixed with 1 or 2 percutaneous screws, associated with base osteotomy of phalanx type Akin and the adductor hallucis tenotomy and lateral capsulotomy also performed percutaneous. AOFAS score, radiographic measurement of the HVA and AIM and the degree of subjective satisfaction of Johnson evaluated the patients. Results: The initial average AOFAS was 42 points to 87.1 points in the re-evaluation. The AVH was 31 degrees (26 to 40) to 14.5 degrees (3 to 26), the AIM was to 14.9 degrees (9 to 17) to 10.7 degrees (8 to 16). All patients were satisfied with the result. Conclusion: The surgical technique described proved effective in the treatment of mild and moderate hallux valgus, keeping the classical mechanical stability associated with a biological advantage
